An increasingly rare find, this lovely old Alabama-Coushatta lidded basket is a perfect example of the craftsmanship and artistic legacy of the Alabama-Coushatta people of the East Texas reserve. Hand-made in the "old-way" this classic old lidded basket is a perfect example of the type of basketry the Alabama-Coushatta were famous for in the later part of the 20th century. 

Made entirely of fallen pine needles gathered from the reservation in East Texas this lidded basket features a floral motif made of dyed raffia grass and hand-sewn to the basket,

This lovely old lidded basket measures approximately 5 inches tall x 7 inches wide. The maker/creator is unknown
