Santo Domingo / Navajo crafted "Squash Blossom" motif earrings in sterling silver with black onyx accents from the Mary and Everett Teller collection

Made entirely by hand at the Teller family studio in New Mexico comes this pair of lovely and unique squash blossom motif earrings with onyx accents. Showcasing the precision and talents of the Teller family of artists, this pair of squash blossom earrings is among the top of the line in contemporary jewelry from Native American artists today. The Teller family of artists are well respected and highly regarded as leaders in the art of Native American jewelry making.

Using solid sterling silver and a technique known as "overlay" the "naja's or horseshoes" featured in this pair of earrings are actually two distinct layers of sterling silver. One layer is the shape of the naja and the second layer has the design cut-out's found on each naja. After the designs are finished the second layer of sterling silver is annealed to the bottom layer thus creating a finished naja. This process is time consuming and requires a great deal of precision but when completed in the way the Tellers demonstrate, it will yield a very unique and special piece.

To complete the work, each naja is finished with a single cabochon of natural black onyx matched specifically for the piece. This pair of squash blossom earrings we see today is tomorrow's treasured collectible.

Made entirely from solid sterling silver including the posts and backs, the naja's featured on this pair of earrings are approximately 2 inches wide from top to the bottom of the design.
