Vintage Navajo crafted pendant circa 1970's featuring natural "Fire Agate" in sterling silver

Handcrafted in solid sterling silver this unique little pendant is a great example of the craftsmanship of the Navajo in the 1970's. Measuring approximately 2 inches long the pendant highlights a single "Fire Agate" gem at the center bottom. Swirls and feathers accent the fire agate gem finished with a sterling silver bead-work bezel.

Fire agate gem was commonly used in the early 1970's and into the 1980's as an alternative to turquoise but it is increasingly rare to find surviving examples of this type of Navajo craft.
