Vintage Navajo crafted sterling silver watch cuff bracelet circa 1960's / 1970's with turquoise and stamp work accents

Hand-worked in the late 1960's / early 1970's this unique watch cuff bracelet is a great example of the what many Navajo artists refer to as silver overlay. Using two different layers of sterling silver this Navajo craftsman created a watch cuff with one layer then embellished the second layer of sterling silver with their own stamp-work designs. After the second layer was completely stamped, the artist attached the two layers together to make a cuff bracelet that is both larger and light weight.

The method of using two different layers of sterling metal for overlay design-work also allows the artist to create a "shadow-box" or frame for their stones. In this case the Navajo artist who crafted this wonderful watch cuff hand set a single turquoise on each side of the watch cuff. The turquoise stones are set inside frame of sterling silver and stamp work.

The stamp work designs are stylized prayer feathers.

Handcrafted from solid sterling silver, this watch cuff bracelet measures approximately 2 inches at the widest point and  to s set to fit a 7.5 to 8 inch wrist size.

***IMPORTANT... The area for the watch to be installed measures 7/8 x 1 inch overall. For more information about how a watch can be installed in this vintage Navajo watch cuff, please contact our staff at Eagle Dancer Gallery, Texas.
