San Juan Revival Vase- polychrome redware by Reycita Trujillo ~ San Juan Pueblo

Reycita Trujillo c1930s Made around 1930-1940, this is vintage Southwestern pottery from one of the seven artists who originated the San Juan Pottery Revival movement. From the San Juan Pueblo in New Mexico, it is redware that has been polished, painted and incised. There are a few marks scattered around the mouth of the pot and wear marks towards the bottom. Signed by Reycita Trujillo, she worked with her husband Juan Hilario who carved designs on her pots. Examples of her pottery can be found at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona and the Morgan Collection of Southwest Pottery.

This vase measures 4.5 inches high and 4.5 inches in diameter.
